Gurigongo Symposium is an NGO founded in 2007 in Komarno, Slovakia, whose members are young and other than young people who think similarly about theatre and the „making of theatre”. Our mission is to be a "catalyst" – especially but not exclusively – in the Hungarian amateur cultural life in Slovakia through programmes that are expected to shape public opinion and taste. We also believe that theatre is an efficient way to initiate dialogues.

Past Activities

– organizing improvisation festivals between 2007–2011 for theatre-lovers in Nitra, Bratislava and Komarno as a pre-selection for the Hungarian improvisation festival (,,Farsangi rogtonzesek") in Budapest, Hungary

– arranging tours of theatre performances from Hungary (Hamlet.ws in 2007, Blindness /Vakság/in 2013, The Coward /A gyáva/ in 2014) for several high schools in Slovakia (from Bratislava to Kralovsky Chlmec for more than 1000 students)

– taking part as co-organizers in the biggest amateur theatre festival, called Jokai Days, in Komarno between 2008–2010 with programs like reader's theatres, flash-mobs, 5 minutes of fame, theatre for one person and sock puppet theatre

– creating theatre performances directed by Miklos Toth and Gabor Toth

Present Activities

– "Theatre of Shed" - theatre programmes in the Summer Camp Festival for Youth in Krasna Horka (Gombaszogi Nyari Tabor, https://www.gombaszog.sk/), which is one of the largest multicultural youth festival for Hungarians in Slovakie

– Vekker TIE Company (http://vekkermuhely.blogspot.sk/)
